A&K Supporters Club opens in Canada
Alive & Kicking is thrilled to receive support from a group in Nova Scotia, Canada, who have organised themselves under the banner, Alive & Kicking Supporters Club. The group is chaired and vice-chaired by two young soccer enthusiasts, Dylan Sheehan, and Zach Shaffleburg, and was founded by Michael Bawtree.
The activities of the group will focus on fundraising initiatives in and around Wolfville, Nova Scotia, including the placement of Halloween fund-raising boxes at schools, the holding of football tournaments using Alive & Kicking’s fair trade balls, and the sale of Alive & Kicking balls on a buy one – donate one basis. This means that for the first time Alive & Kicking balls will be available outside Africa and Europe and far more soccer ball donations for Africa will be emanating from Canada.
