Brightside Group plc CEO Arron Banks will be participating in the East African Safari Classic; a gruelling nine day drive across East Africa in a classic car and 40 degree heat, to raise money for Alive & Kicking.
Run over eight full days of intense competition, this exciting challenge will take the teams along a route that covers many of the famous classic rally sections of past Safari Rallies, with service teams following the rally to support the drivers.
The 4300km journey starts on 19th November in Mombasa, Kenya and loops through a challenging route across the country and Tanzania, finishing back in Mombasa on 28th November. Arron and his co-driver, Tim Chesser, will be driving a 1966 Ford Escort Mark I. The car has to be fit to cope with the intensity of the unforgiving Kenyan countryside, and has been fitted uprated suspension, adjustable gas uprights and shock absorbers, complete with a full roll cage fitted to the interior of the vehicle.
The Brightside Group plc is looking to raise £100,000 for Alive & Kicking, to enable us to move closer to our aim of establishing a new stitching centre in Accra.
We wish Arron and Tim the best of luck!
